Cable stands used for holding or lifting cable drums off the ground so they can be uncoiled for installation of underground power cables, conductors, wire, coaxial cable, etc. The cable drum is moved, rolled or lifted into position and then jacked up using an integrated hydraulic jack or screw jack system. Small units for industrial electricians are lightweight and have wheels for small coils of cable. Heavy utility cable drum stands feature a disc brake system and/or can be powered by a hydraulic motor for coiling and uncoiling.
