Aldon 4014 Series SaberTooth® Portable Derails
Temporary derailing protection. SaberTooth® Portable Derails are designed for freight cars and locomotives. One-way and two way models available.
- Formed Steel Plate Housing: No welds in shear plane to fail. Full contact with rail head.
- Safety Hook: If brace bar notch should slip off tie plate, hook bites into tie. Prevents derail from slipping.
- Tool-free Installation: No wrenches needed. Four thumbscrews anchor derail to rail head. No damage to rail surfaces.
CAUTION!
- Install derails on exposed rail track only.
- In curved track, only install derail on outer curved rail.
- Aldon derails are designed for cars and locomotives operating at slow switching speeds (5 mph / 8kmh or less).
Technical Details
- Tie-Biting Hook at the bottom of the stepped tie brace prevents the derail from being dislodged during derailing.
- Four stainless steel thumbscrews secure the derail from rolling sideways or lifting up.
- Height above rail 2.75" (70mm).
- Blue derail flag and holder included.
- Derail can be padlocked.
- Bright, durable, yellow powdercoat finish.
