Tractel TUH Hydraulic Tirfor/Supertirfor: Powered Lifting
The Tractel Hydraulic Tirfor® “Supertirfors” are hydraulically powered hoists/winches that are used with special maxiflex wire rope. They can be used for lifting, pulling, lowering, tensioning, guying and many other applications. Their design allows for almost unlimited lengths of wire rope or cable (maxiflex).
The Tirfor® hoists/winches TU-H series feature variable speed controls. A special hydraulic power pack with a flow controller is used to manage hydraulic cylinders' speed of operations - to manage the moving speed of the load. They have a high level of accuracy of movement. The average load travel can reach an accuracy of 2mm/s (O.L2m /min). Such operational flexibility prevents fluid hammer when starting the pull/lift of the load and is extremely precise at the final positioning of the load. The Tirfor® TU-H configuration control is achieved through the main flow regulator (all connected units simultaneously) or through the main flow regulator together with individual lever shafts (independent control) for multiple Tirfor®.
The motorised Tirfor®’s power and ability to operate in any position is why it is often used during bridge construction and maintenance. The Hydraulic Tirfor® can be used to lift, lower, move and align construction sections. It is fast and easy to install and requires fewer operators as multiple units can be used in synchronisation. These units are operated as 1-way, 2-way or 4-way but upon request, systems can be configured for more.
In addition to saving construction crews a lot of time and money by utilising multiple units, they also increase safety as they can be operated a long distance away from the immediate work area. These hydraulic Tirfor® s also have overload protection which provides safety to the user while operating the device.
The Supertirfors are easy to use, lightweight, robust, and powerful and have an increased resistance to wear. The TUH Series of Hydraulic Tirfor®/Supertirfors from Tractel are available with load capacities of 1.6 & 3.2 Tonnes. The load capacity can be increased with the use of sheave blocks.
